Anyone have a good recommendation for a syslog server that can run as a service, and possibly have ODBC compatibility?

Hi,
Try KIWI Syslog. ( www.kiwisyslog.com ).
A vert neat program , can run as service and log messages to a ODBC.
Low price and probably the best that I have seen amongst the Syslog servers.

Private I is a very good product for the Cisco devices ( http://www.opensystems.com ). It is a very well groomed program that works great with PIX's. A good setup example is that you have your router syslog back to the PIX and the PIX syslog back to a local W2K server inside. You can also create VPN's from your remote site PIX's back to a central PIX and locate a central syslog server there. Private I has the ability to do both. It can also recieve syslog data from your LAN switches as well. Basically it makes for one stop shopping for your syslog needs.
Also, most important, its easy to setup and built to run on W2K in a stable fashion.
