FWSM Configuration

Hi all,

I have some questions regarding the FWSM on the 6500 switch.

If i have several edge switches connedted to the 6500 switch ports

Each edge switch might contain several vlans, or the may span the same Vlans.

now the FWSM uses vlans to identify its interfaces.

Does the FWSM use those vlans (on the edge switches) to identify his interfaces or FWSM uses configured VLans on the 6500 switch

if so, how would i protect my servers VLan (directly connected to the 6500 ports) from other VLans (on the edge switch)

You can clear server VLANs out of the trunk port that connect your 6500 to edge switch, so the traffic of those vlans will not propagate to the edge switches.
