On Cisco MARS box, what is the telephone port for?

Got this question from a customer. They are asking what is the telephone for.

Hi,

It's actually to enable MARS to send alert (electronic page) to users or groups on their pagers or cellphones.

If you have connected the modem to the telephone wall jack, you can connect a telephone to the

telephone port on the CS-MARS Appliance. The telephone port uses a standard RJ-11 port.
