I have a 6513 switch with FWSM running 1.1. I have IP Soft phones on the inside network and a SIP server connected over WAN which is on the outside. The phones are not able to get registered on the SIP server. It uses SIP over UDP. I have removed the fixup for sip also but still packets from the phone are not reaching the SIP server. I've also added permit ip tcp any any and permit udp any any both on the inside and the outside and still its not working.I read in one of the release notes that for disabling SIP over UDP I need 2.2 OS on the FWSM. Let me know if there is anything which can be done to solve this problem other than the software upgrade on FWSM or that is th eonly option.
If you disable SIP fixup, you don't have the address xlate problem, because no NAT is needed. However this is just a temporary workaround for certain supported SIP methods. The ultimate goal should be an upgrade for the full SIP/NAT/PAT support.
