I'm looking for some topics to read and learn about to help with the following scenario.
Let's say I have 3 transit providers, ATT, Lumen, and HurricaneElectric. I'd like to prefer ATT and Lumen's networks on egress, so I modify the Local Pref for the HE Transit route to 50 and keep it lower than the Local Pref of ATT & Lumen 100.
However, if I lost my link to ATT or Lumen, or my BGP neighborship to these providers then I would like to modify the Local Pref for the HE routes back to 100. So the egress traffic is sent out HE and the remaining ATT or Lumen route.
What technologies might I use to piece this together, if possible? I'm looking to do this on an IOS-XR platform.
From my initial search this morning, it looks like I might want to look into the EEM (Embedded Event Manager) and potentially a TCL script.
