I read that the new Catalyst 8500L series is the successor of the ASR1001X.
The ASR1001X is also a Broadband Access Aggregation router so a question is spontaneous if you do broadband aggregation.
In the datasheet I can't find any references to the maximum number of supported L2TP or PPP sessions.
Cisco ASR1001-X is able to support max 16000 PPP session and 8000 L2TP tunnels.
I would like to know in which cases and with what limitations this device can be used as BRAS.
It seems that the focus is all on support for the sd-wan features.
