PPP Link Testing

Hello All,

I was wondering if anybody know of a way to cause errors on a PPP link like CRC errors, Collisions, Runts, etc. in a lab environment.

The thing is- I want to test "ppp quality" command. So in case, link quality goes beyond configured value, the link goes down and then I can switch over to the alternate link using EEM.

Hello Amit,

I used in the past line emulators that could  emulate a long ADSL line introducing cable length and noise in a controlled way.

So a PPP over  ATM link could be affected by a device like this.
