Role of Geolocation services in Rerouting sites to country specific sites

Hi,

I have two ISP links from diverse service providers, and Iam advertising three /24 prefixes to the Internet. Initially, my proxy servers were on a public IP segment (registered IPs in India) given by one of the ISPs. But, we moved away from this setup, and are using IPs from one of the /24 segments for our proxies. These /24 segments have route object entries created for India region even though the larger IP block belongs to US.

We see that traffic to google.com does NOT get redirected to google.co.in. Can you let me know if Geolocation services (GeoIP) play an important role in redirection of traffic to local sites like google.co.in for example?

I have not got any definitive reply from my ISPs, and we are still struggling to find a solution to this.

Thanks

Mikey
