Switch 4900M for Metro Ethernet Networks

Hello,

I have to design a Metro ethernet Network with ring topology and I would like to know if I can use 4900M switch. Does anyone know if this switch allows to create Ethernet Virtual Channels and other metro ethernet funcionalities?

Hello Daniel,

C4900M is data center oriented, you should look for ME series switches ME 3400 or above for metro ethernet features.

I`m looking for a switch that support Metro features and it have three 10 Gbps interfaces. Cat 4500 has these two conditions, but I wanted to find other cheaper switch.
