Temperature of the SIP module.

Someone know wich is the operating temperature of the SIP module on SCE8000??

Hello Nelson,

The operating environmental temperature for SCE8000-SIP should be based on

SCE8000 itself, so it's:

Nominal 32 to 104°F (0 to 40°C), Storage: -4 to 149°F (-20 to 65°C)

Also there are some thresholds for each component and below is for SCE8000-SIP.

You can check this by "debug slot 0 ppc 0 func hw_monitor_show_all_temperatures"

command in enable 15 mode.

WrnHg is the threshold for warning and ErrHg is for error.

If one of the thresholds is breached, SCE will send a trap.

I have a question regarding this topic. Do you know which sensor readings are most important ?

As you know there are lots of values there, which ones do we have to monitor in our NMS application.

Hi Gurcan,

Good question....

To be honest, I'm not sure which one is most important.

But SCE itself monotors each threshhold and if one of them is breached

SCE will raise a trap.

So even if you don't monitor each sensor, you would be notified by the traps.

Did you ever see that if you reach the capacity limits of the SCE it will send temperature alerts ?

In our setup for example 1 SCE with 2 SCM-E modules, when we reach ~29 GBps , SCE generates temp warning alerts.(cpu utilization lower than 35-40% )

Do you have similar experiences ?

Hmm, I have never seen that behavior.
