WS-C6509-E Question: 6509 IOS upgrade 12.2(50) to IOS 15

I have a WS-C6509-E with a VS-SUP2T-10G if I have a smartnet contract  can I get an IOS upgrade from Cisco to go from ver 12.5 to 15.0

And can you explain the end of service on the WS-C6509-E

Cisco hasn't announced the EoS for the 6500E chassis, however, it is widely known that Cisco SE/AM have been opening selling the 6807XL/6880 as the direct replacement for the 6500E chassis.
