Hyperlocation for Cisco 3800 series access points.

I have a requirement to provide Hyperlocation services for a new deployment. Idealy I would like to provide this using the later 3800 series access points, but it does not appear that the Cisco Hyperlocation module is supported on the 3800 series access points. Is there any plans to release a new module for the 3800 series to support Hyperlocation. Alternativly is there another solution that offers Hyperlocation and 802.11ac Wave 2 capability.

Regards

Richard

Hi there,

The 2800 and 3800 series will have used 'Enhanced Location' using external antennas. There is not to much info on how it works, or when it will be available.

For now you are stuck using the 3600 and 3700 APs with the Hyperlocation Modules.

Brett
