Adding a Analog Camera via a Analog Capture card on VSOM

I have a VSOM/VSMS coresident on same box, and on back of the chasis it has a analog capture card.  I currently have 2 analog cameras that are functioning off of this card, I want to add another ( i belive it supports 16)  But when i try to  add a new camera on channel 3 of VSOM, it says (DB Error: No such field.)  Does the encoder card on the chasis have some kind of admin page i need to preconfigure for the third channel? if so what is the URL or setup for doing this?   Or am i just running into a VSOM bug.

Thanks in advance.

The VSOM Install & Upgrade Guide for 4.2.0 contains the required steps to upgrade the database schema

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/physical_security/video_surveillance/network/operations_manager/4_2/install_upgrade/vsom_install.pdf

The final section of this document is entitled Upgrading VSOM.

Step 6 in that procedure deals with updating the database

Step 6

Upgrade the VSOM database in MySQL.

Enter the MySQL password when prompted. The default password is blank; press enter if there is no password.

If you are upgrading from Release 4.1.1 to Release 4.2.1:

shell> mysql -u root -p < /usr/BWhttpd/vsom/db/mysql-update-4.1.1-5_to_4.2.1.sql

If you are upgrading from Release 4.0.0 to Release 4.2.1, Run the following commands in sequence to upgrade the database:

mysql -u root -p < /usr/BWhttpd/bas/db/mysql-update-4.0.0-23_to_4.1.0.sql

mysql -u root -p < /usr/BWhttpd/bas/db/mysql-update-4.1.0-15_to_4.1.1.sql

mysql -u root -p < /usr/BWhttpd/bas/db/mysql-update-4.1.1-6_to_4.2.0.sql

mysql -u root -p < /usr/BWhttpd/bas/db/mysql-update-4.2.0-16_to_4.2.1.sql

In your case, you would begin with the step in bold above, and continue with the step below in order to arrive at a 4.2.0 schema.  It is always a good idea to backup your VSOM database before updating the schema.

Backing up VSOM

After configuring VSOM, you can back up the VSOM configuration.

Procedure

Step 1

Step 1

Step 2   Click Download.

Step 3  When prompted, save the .tar file to a secure directory.

The VSOM backup file is named VSOM__backup_timestamp. For example, VSOM_PST_backup_20070327153851.tar.

In a web browser, open http:///vsmc.html and navigate to the Encoding Server Backup on the Console page.

Hello,

The error you describe sounds more like a database error than something to do with the encoder.  Did you recently upgrade your VSMS/VSOM version?

From a console or ssh session, please issue the following command (after the # prompt) and cut/paste the results:

#  rpm -qa | grep -i cisco

#  /etc/init.d/mysql status

# mysql
mysql> use bas;
mysql> select * from bas_settings;

Then look on line id 12, "DB_VERSION"

You may possibly have a database schema which was not properly updated when upgrading VSOM.

I hope that helps...

It looks like it is the wrong version, where do I go from here ?
