Is there any documentation on polling event records?

The Analytics guide says "Occupancy Data does not result in event responses (such as alerts), but Occupancy Data could be stored and retrieved later. For example, it could be stored and retrieved from a database for reporting purposes. These reports may be customized according to factors such as the time range and crowd size. "

I am specifically looking to use the Occupancy Data Event to generate data on the amount of people that enter a certain area of a technology conference. Is the referrenced database a second off-machine database or one within VSMS? Thanks in advance!

The events generated by the cameras are not stored on the media server.  They are gathered up by the vsom server in it's SQL database.

The reports would need to be generated from there. 

You would need to set up events on the camera itself, but you would then need to get your reporting from the VSOM database.
