When adding a UMS I receive this message, "x.x.x.x is not a UMS"
It is reachable from the server and nothing is blocked.
Thanks in advance.

Do you have DNS entries for the UMS and Server. It is required.

Did dns fix it? I can ping the DNS names from the IPICS CLI but still get the error. Running 4.10(1).

Sorry but, this IPICS integration effort was quickly dropped to focus on other projects. I was not using DNS at that time and cannot remember how I got it working. It was a quick (low priority) task and once it was working I walked away.
Once I find my notes on this task I will post it.

Some fields were missing and now corrected.
Now it states
"This may take a few minutes. Please wait.."
few seconds later it states,
"x.x.x.x is not a UMS"
Thanks,

Issue corrected. Based on the IPICS system logs, IPICS was sending 15 characters for the password when I typed 16.
I changed the password at the UMS with less characters and the problem is solved.
"x.x.x.x is not a UMS" is not helpful at all !!!
