Fresh 7.2 VSOM - No live video visible

Hi.

I upgraded a clean 6.3.2 unit to 7.2. Nothing seems bad and the upgrade went well.

Since this is my own unit, I have added some spare cams. One is a 4500 and the other a 5011.

I can see the live image in the camera settings/image. But nothing on the Monitor view. Or on the security desktop.

Camera status is fine and I see no complaints on the web frontend.

Definitely sounds like a client-side issue in my opinion.  Did you happen to try the VSM 7 workstation profiler against your workstations by chance?

No, I haven't. But this could be a good idea.

But since I can use 6.3.3 from this station without any performance issues, I assumed that the 7 should be even better.

Danny, Have you tried running in compatibility mode when logged in to your vsm web interface.

tools>compatibility view?

I know that I have to use compatibility view for my VSM plus any camera (cisco) that I directly connect to.

I am getting slowly there.

Found out that I have no MS license added. System does not complain, but since I have done this, streams seam to show up on the SASD and on the IE...

Can somebody confirm this issue? Means missing license - no warning and therefore no pictures?

Or was this just a coincidence?

Hmmm... I can't recall the last time I did a clean install of just the VSM 7 rpms.  I believe that the VSMS instance should come "out-of-the-box" with a 10,000 Cisco camera license... and both of the cameras you've mentioned are Cisco... so I'm not sure about what happened there.
