How to identify linux distro on VSOM?

I currently have VSOM 6.3.1, and the download page for 6.3.2 has four files: RHEL4, SLES10 SP1 (64-bit), SLES 10 SP1, SLES9 SP3.

I looked in the /etc/ directory and I see a file named "suseRegister.conf" so I assume I have SuSe. But I can't tell if it's 9, 10, or 10 64-bit.

How do I find out which upgrade file I need?

You should be able to verify the OS running on your server with the following command

# SPident

your output may look someting like this.

VSMS:~ # SPident

CONCLUSION: System is up-to-date!
  found    SLE-10-i386-SP1

VSMS:~ #

If you are runnig Red Hat you can do the same thing with this command

# cat /etc/issue

Sorry I don't have a RHEL VSOM so I dont know what the output looks like.
