Hello Fellows,
I have been trying to figure out which camera models support internal storage to archive video streams in case the network path to the video surveillance media server goes down. Can someone help?
Thanks.

Mo'ath Al Rawashdeh,
Sorry to inform but there is no Cisco camera with this feature at this point of time, neither any 3rd party camera supported with VSM.
to have redudant storage you can install a local VSMS server and create a parent-child stream archives between local and central location.

Unless I am reading the data sheet wrong, Karan is incorrect.

This states that the HD 4300/4500 allow for local USB storage in the chassis in case of a network outage. I have noticed this USB port on the cameras during installations, but have not attempted to configure and test this feature.

@harris : Thanks to point me on this, but if you read completly it states clearly VSOM does not support this feature.this is what i wrote in my earlier response as per partner requirement to store in localy and then recover(view) on VSOM/VSMS when link between location is up.
""Local storage. The camera supports local storage to a USB flash drive slot, and requires an optional Cisco USB storage accessory (sold separately). Video is stored locally in case of loss of network connectivity, and requires a separate utility to retrieve and view the video from individual cameras. Locally stored video cannot be used with Cisco Video Surveillance Manager"""

Karan,
Thanks for pointing this caveat out. Am I correct in understanding that you can still use this feature on the camera, but you will be required to locally retrieve the USB drive to gain access to the video. Obviously you will not be able to use this with VSOM, but you would still have some type of video to reference in case of the outage.
I read the initial question as inquiring about cameras that support local storage in case of network outages. These cameras fit that bill. Is it safe to say that this feature is relevant only to the camera and not the whole surveillance solution?

@harrijs : yes now we are riding the same train .
using optional Cisco USB storage accessory (sold separately) you can store up to 8GB data. Not sure about the external utility to view this stored data ,it could be VLC player.
Thanks
