Password Reset for Cisco 2500 series camera

I'm unable to reset the camera to factory settings.

I can see the reset button on the back of the camera but it doesn't restores settings to it's default.

Initially I could not even get the camera to appear on the network (no dhcp lease)

After several reboots, and clicking "reset" I got IP address eventually. It keeps asking for a password however.

How can I wipe it out ? and bring All to it's defaults ?

YEAH. Finally We got it !

I kept the reset button over 30 seconds and did not power cycle the camera this time. Just left it, it did come back on-line with factory defaults

Congrats.

I actually use the following rule when "defaulting" a 2500 series:

reset < 1 sec = cold reboot

reset ~ 5 sec = defaulting of IP addressing configuration

reset > 10 sec = factory defaulting of all settings.

Cheers,

Scott.

Don't use Firefox the first time you access the camera use IE .

Better yet... *only* use I.E. 6 or 7 for ALL things Cisco VSM/IPVS.  That's my rule.

If you have a client on Windows 7 (unsupported until the next release I must add) then compatibility mode usually works well for anything that breaks usually. There's a workaround for the AX client on Win7, but I find for real solid results, a fast up-to-date XP machine with plenty of RAM always works the best.
