vsom install help?

I blew out a vsom stand vsms msp ru's so that I can have two stand alone boxes (both vsom & vsms on one box) one for lab and the other for production . .

One one box I am able to get it up and running on 6.3.2 on the other I have have created my raid0 drive and go to install and I keep getting an error message . . A profile for this machine could not be found . . (see pic) after which I enter the location of various partitions /dev/sda   /dev/sdb  /dev/sdc and it proceeds to the next step of creating partition plans and an error pops up and says "error while configuring partitions try again" . . I am unable to get the installation to complete . .

Has anyone seen this or know where I can go with this . .

I am trying to install on 5015B-MT, CIVS-MSP-1RU (where the vsom piece was originally) . . . Long story why I just didn't add the vsms part instead of blowing up

Hmmm... you're using a recovery DVD in an attempt to quickly rebuild a 1RU?

I haven't tried to use a recovery DVD image on the 1RUs, I'm not sure how it would go.

Have you considered rolling your own?  i.e. - Manual partitioning, installation of SLES, and then Cisco RPMs?

Using a bootable USB vsm 6.3.2 stick

Since I blew it out there is no OS (had to reconfigure the raid for equal disk space) so I can't load the rpm without an OS that I am aware of

Well,  something tells me the recovery stick you've created is looking for a particular type of disk configuration on the 1RU chassis.  You've probably configured the array/partitions to something that's not supported.

The easiest path here would be to open a TAC case and have them attempt to help you through it.

If that's not possible, you can still go the manual rebuild route, but you'll have to go get SLES 10 sp1 (I believe) installation media and be prepared to roll your own.

you can try to burn those files on the usb recovery to DVD and try to recover you vsm from DVD. It works for me
