VSOM Live Recording Issue : Failed to load camera feed. Error message 404 not found

I am getting following error message (see in attached) when trying to check recording for the camera. On live mode, the camera is working. What might be the reason? I am using VSOM 7.6. The camera model is CIVS-IPC-3520 ,  CIVS-IPC-6000P

It would certainly appear the camera was not registered properly to the VSMS server.  Are there any Health Notifications for either the Camera endpoint or the VSMS server its associated with?

thanks for reply scott ,

there is no health issue for camera when getting registered i check the status everything is fine ,

the scenario for my connectivity is like i have 5 brances and 1 HQ , all vsms from brances where added at HQ vsom, and cameras everything is manage from HQ . now the camera which giving issue on for recording on vsom from one of branch out of the 5 branches , when  these cameras are moving from their own location to other branch vsms its working fine with recording on vsom .

so i dont know its issue with vsms or vsom .please quick respond will be appreciated.

I really don't follow the statement 'these cameras are moving from their own location to other branch vsms its working fine with recording on vsom'.  What exactly do you mean by this?

Do you mean cameras are MOVING between branch networks?

Also FYI - 'VSOM' specifically doesn't actually handle any of the video recording.  Video archives exist on the VSMS instance to which they are registered.

thanks for reply scott ,

i mean by my statement that the camera when they are being move from their own location (local branch vsms for recording repository ) to another/remote branch location vsms for recording repository , it working fine .

to make it more clear

when i give the  path for recording repository during registering camera on VSOM as the local vsms server path is not working  , but if i give remote/another branch vsms server path for recording repository for this camera , recording working fine.

So i am thinking there is some issue with vsms located at branch which giving issue of recording.

From the trouble branch in question, can you confirm there are any live streams or archives on it's local VSMS server?  (Checking via the VSMC/CDAF console).  If so, can you actually review any of the video *locally at the branch* (i.e. - not over the WAN/router/firewall)?

yes there is archives on its local vsms server , but i cannot even see local recording same issue .

one more issue which i am feeling is with domain name in nic config on gui of vsms

its taking domain name as localdomain , but when i am trying to change domainname to labs.nca.local its not changing , this domain name is the same i am using on all branches vsms . but i am unable to change domain name on this vsms server . i think if i could change domain name on vsms nic config i will be able to solve the recording issue over both lan and wan.

That could certainly impact the proper resolution of the IMS URIs as VSM constructs them for clients.

How are you attempting to change the registered domain name on the VSMS server?  It *needs* to be changed via the General -> Network Settings -> NIC Port 0 "Settings" Button via VSOM.  Once saved, it should make the changes to the VSMS server, and it'll likely reboot.  Give it some time first if it seems like nothing has happened.

Ensure you can ping the VSMS server by FQDN <name>.labs.nca.local from your workstation, then investigate your situation.

yes the way you mention i am doing same and going for restart , but its going back to same domainname as localdomain on restart , i tried many time changing and restart , on restart its reverts back to same name which exist localdomain .

I don't know what to tell you in this case.  You may need to open a support case with Cisco TAC.

can i do it through command line from ssh to vsms . you have any idea how can i do with command line

I highly recommend against changing anything from the CLI.  You could attempt to change these things from the VSMC/CDAF interface, but I believe they are actually greyed out if it's managed by a VSOM server already.

The only other thing I can think of is to check that the second NIC is disabled on the configuration page for the VSMS server from within VSOM.  If it's enabled or set to DHCP, it could be having adverse effects on the registered domain name.

What was discovered was that a database inconsistency between VSOM and the media server occurred and the result of this was that cameras not record.

That was fixed by disabling and re-enabling media partitions, after this cameras start recording.
