I have an old 2811 that I used for a home lab, but with the failure of my cable modem over a long weekend, I thought it might be handy to get a DOCSIS HWIC and have a backup for internet when this kind of thing happens, but when I went to console into my trusty router it was only giving me parts of the text you would expect:
System BootraprsioOFTWA (fc1)
chnica: http.cco.cotesuppig(c) c.
Iory for ECC
c1 platformit26teinemory
Maiisonfi 64 bit
Upde ROMMON inia
211 platform wi 262 Kbyteai iconfd to4 bit mo witECC enabledde ROMMON initialed
ompact Fsh2 26byofs 4 t mo with ECC
MMnitiized
This is a sample of what I got when I turned it on. I have removed the CF card as I was going to reset to factory, but I may need to do more than just that.
Any ideas of what the cause may be?
Thanks
Rod

This may be due to other faulty or imconpatable module you installed (something happend)
if the router gone to ROMMON Mode, it might have reset to factory,
To suggest better, post full complete output boot process ( after removing the New card)

So, I must admit to some embarrassment, I had just finished consoling into my 3750 so figured there must be something wrong with my router. No so. Like many people these days, I have not serial port on any of my computers, so I had to get a serial to USB converter. Seems if you leave this in the port too long (at least with Linux) it doesn't like that.
I unplugged it and plugged it back in and voila! Problems solved.
Sorry to bother you guys, but thanks for the reply.
Cheers
