CISCO RV082 ROUTER QOS

                   CAN ANYONE ADVISE ME ON MANAGING BANDWIDTH ON RV082 CISCO LINKSYS DUAL BAND ROUTER?

I HAVE CISCO IP PHONES SPA504G ON THE NETWORK ALL PHONES HAVE POUR QOS. I TRIED CUSTOMIZING THE ROUTER FOR VOIP SERVICE USING UDP PROTOCOL SETTING PORT RANGE AT 16384 TO 32767. I CREATED SERVICES IN BANDWIDTH MANAGEMENT TO CONTROL RATE ON WAN 1 PORT WHICH ALLOWS 3000 KBITS. I WAS ABLE TO PRIORITIZE OR MANAGE BANDWIDTH WHEN PRIORITIZING SELETED SERVICE FOR VOIP THE QOS ON THE PHONES WORKED BETTER. HOWEVER THE USERS INTERNET SPEED SLOW DOWN. CAN SOMEONE ADVISE WITH SOLUTIONS.

Hi NCC, thank you for using our forum, my name is Luis I am part of the Small business Support community.

When you set a priority in QoS you have to choose which service going to receive high priority or low priority, so if you set high priority for VoIP, and low priority for the rest you also will see slow Internet because all resources of the bandwidth will be focused in VoIP. Now, you could set some bandwidth prioritizes in order to provide high quality in your calls and also some services in Internet.
