hi everyone,
Had issues last night trying to get an RV340 with firmware 1.0.01.18 connecting properly to our Vocus fibre connection. The connection has no authentication required, just static IP, subnet, gateway and dns settings all of which were set up as per our existing Edge router.
Tried many different things including, changing speed and duplex from auto negot to each of the speeds listed in the router config, changing mtu, disabling firewall, enabling firewall. The router on the other end registers the rv340 mac address and they seem communicate on a layer 2 level but i cannot ping the gateway IP address and vocus could not ping back to our ip addresses either. I ended up factory resetting the router and setting up from scratch with just the wan settings and nothing else. It connects and i can ping the gateway for about 30 second to a minute and use the internet and then it stops. pings stop, the connection status says connected but no communication, has anyone seen anything like this before? the router picks up a static route automatically to the next hop so it is getting some information from the isp. also, my laptop works when configured with all settings the same on network adaptor and connected directly and as i said old router works fine. also this cisco rv i had working just find on an adsl connection using a bridge modem on wan port 1 previously so i dont know why its not working on the fibre link. - nat is enabled. thanks for any input/suggestions in advance.
