Cisco SRP527W-U functionality question

Hi There, I have a configuration question in regards to the Cisco SRP527W-U.

We would like to configure it in the following way, 1) we have an ethernet termination for the WAN 2) we have 2 different vlans going to 2 different switches.

Can we have the default gateway for 2 LAN subnets and a default route via a /30 for our WAN. Can we use the 4 switchports for this?

switchport 1 VLAN 2 (Switch 1 LAN)

switchport 2 VLAN 3 (Switch 2 LAN)

switchport 3 VLAN 4 (Link to Data centre switch with /30)

Hi Scott.

Yes, this is a valid configuration, you could use 4 switchports.
Set the serial interface that goes to the switch that contains the vlans as a default gateway.
and set the ethernet termination that goes to the Wan as the default route.
In that way the vlans will have access to the wan.

This model will function as a Layer 3 router, you can route vlan's and do static routing, and other functions as

Static routing

Routing Information Protocol (RIP) versions 1 and 2

Generic routing encapsulation (GRE)

Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) -- supported on primary WAN interface

Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) -- supported on primary WAN interface

Policy-based routing

So, You can  have the default gateway for your 2 LAN subnets and a default route via a /30 for your WAN
