The specs of the RV260 router mention 'Command-line interface via console – limited configuration command support', although I am struggling to get this accessed. Does anybody know how to enable this?

Hi,

The console port on the RV260 router is intended for future use and is currently not operational so you will not be able to console in/ssh to the device. Please use the GUI for all configuration needs.

For more troubleshooting on router please refer the admin guide :

Hi @Bob33

The console line interface is enabled by default on your router.
To access it, you must connect a console cable to the console port of your router and use an emulator, such as Putty, to enter the enabled commands on your router.

This is a major surprise.
The Quick Start Guide says, on Page 4:
"The router console port is designed for a serial cable connection to a terminal or a computer that is running a terminal emulation
program."

Can we expect a firmware release that enables the console port?

Hello r_bratton,

This is simply an explanation of what the console port is designed for. Apologize for the inconvenience. We will work with the corresponding teams to correct and make a clear statement in the product datasheet and quick start guide about the console port limited functionality.

There is no plan to enable the console port on RV26x/RV34x series routers in any of the upcoming firmware releases.

Regards,

Martin
