I need an actual support list of the 3G/4G/LTE USB dongles supported by the RV130, RV130W, RV320  routers at this time. The old list is already about two years old.

Thanks,

Kay

Hello Kay,

Please be advised that the old list is still the actual one.

You can always call our line at:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/web/tsd-cisco-small-business-support-center-contacts.html

and request an escalation as a feature request if your modem is not in the supported list.

Kind regards,

Milan Milanov

Hello Milan,

Thank you first for your reply. I’m using some RV180, a RV130, a Huawei K3765 and a Huawei E3372 all running newest firmware here in Germany.

Together with the D-Link DWM-221 the Huawei E3372 is the only LTE modem stick available at http://www.alternate.de as one of the biggest online dealer here.

The Huawei E3372 is using the so called HUAWEI HiLink as mostly all new HUAWEI usb stick modem products. The HUAWEI HiLink is not compatible and not working with the RV130.

A firmware without the HUAWEI HiLink is also not available and there is no sign that HUAWEI will change their modem’s to be not smart anymore without self-configuration software like HUAWEI HiLink.

The old Huawei K3765 was sold used by amazon or eBay because there are not new at the market anymore.

So the feature to offer a modem connection is likely not existent and maybe already against the German competition law to offer a feature which is not.

So Milan, maybe take this serious even this is only small business, to fix the software or Cisco should sell by self usb stick modems which works.

By the way the old Huawei K3765 does work only with an about 10 inch usb extension cable in my case. Direct connected my RV130 has many malfunctions, is getting not normal hot and is starting smelling like burning maybe of some interference.

So maybe give the user a hint to use an about 10 inch usb extension cable.

Thanks,

Kay

Likewise, here in Hong Kong the only option is the Huawei E3372.

Come on Cisco, get it together, telling us a 2 year old list of USB dongles is still valid for a product you still sell is like selling me a car that can only run on tyres that were made ovder 2 years ago and are no longer available.

I bought this router (RV130W) because it has the USB dongle failover function but what's the point if I cannot get a USB dongle that will work.

You need to sort this out please, or retire the product and offer a trade-in on a product that does work.

Hope to soon be a satisfied user.

And another thing, we pay a premium price for Cisco product because we expect to get premium support, not 2 year old support!

End of rant... for today!

I have contacted all the major service providers and these dongles are not sold anymore (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, Metro PCS and even Best Buy). Basically this failover support can't be used and now the only thing these companies sell are hotspots.
