hello,
Have a new rv042g with current firmware which is having an odd ipsec vpn problem.
every morning the tunnel is down and I have to reconnect it from main office.
branch office (where rv042gi s located) has VOIP phones and business software which needs vpn tunnel.
deak peer detection is turned on in both routers, just in case I turned on 'keep alive' but this morning tunnel was down again.
what causes this problem?
Thank you,
Oskar

Try the following.
- DPD or Keep alive only
- setting a ping from a system on one side of the VPN to a system on the other side (that can respond)
Post your results.

Hello Oskar,
Do you have any logs from the routers? You may have to enable more detailed logging and wait for the issue to happen again, but they should tell us why the tunnel went down and/or why it failed to come back up.
Could you also post your settings for each side of tunnel? I don't need your keys of course, I am mostly interested in the Local/Remote Security gateway settings, since they can affect which side can initiate the tunnel.
Thank you for choosing Cisco,
