Multiple Subnets on RV016

The instruction manual says you can add subnets to the Router on page 29, but it is not very clear about doing so. When you had a second subnet what IP does the router have? Is there a gateway on the 2nd subnet or is the gateway the original IP of the router? I have been trying to keep the wired and the wireless traffic apart on the router and have been using vlans but I have just added another wap and it is not getting out thru the gateway to the internet.

Hi Avander, when enabling multiple subnet you will type in the IP address and a subnet mask. So if you type in 192.168.2.1 with 255.255.255.0 mask, then 192.168.2.1 becomes the default gateway for that subnet. The router will still maintain its original IP address. So if you're managing the router through 192.168.1.1 that will remain the router's IP address.
