RV016 10/100-port VPN router setting up a failover

Hi,

I was wondering how does failover works on Cisco Small Bussines RV016. Specifically, I am interested when one WAN line stop working, and all the computers in the LAN start using another line. Does it means that IP addresses of the computers in the LAN will change, or they stay the same? If they change can I set it up that they allways stay the same no matter which input WAN they are using?

Thanks,

Sabina

Hi Sabina, if the router is configured to fail over, let us say WAN 1 is primary, WAN 2 is back up. In the event WAN 1 fail, all connections should go to WAN 2. The IP addresses of your LAN are not affected in any capacity.
