Hello,
When loggin into http://192.168.1.1/ the browser of choice autochanges to https://192.168.1.1/ as I assume the router is currently only allowing SSL access. Where is the option to DISABLE HTTPS? Is there even an option to enable plain HTTP access anymore? I am attempting to access the adminitrative management features of the router from a wired connection on my LAN without having to login via SSL as iut's rather slow. Plus there is all those annoying security certificate warnings. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 with Internet Explorer 10 + SeaMonkey 2.19.0
It's either not clearly labeled or I'm just not seeing it.
It was a hell of a lot easier with the WRVS4400N REV2.

Thank you for reaching the Small Business Support Community.
I was playing with a RV220W for a while trying to find an answer for your inquiry and unfortunately found no work around; it only allows, local or remote access, via SSL. With Google Chrome I was not prompted for a certificate validation but I don't think that means I am connected thru plain HTTP even though there is a red x on HTTPS on the browser's address bar.
Please let me know if there is anything I may assist you with.

Hello Christopher,
There is not an option on the RV220W to enable only HTTP. HTTPS is the default. As for the certificates, you can configure them on both the the RV220W and the web browser of your choice, this way you eliminate the certificates warnings everytime you log in to the RV220W GUI.
I know this is not the solution you were looking for, the RV220W comes with HTTPS enabled by default and cannot by changed to HTTP, but at least you can configure your certificates to avoid the certificates warnings.
If you are having trouble setting up the certificates, please let me know which web browser are you using, so I can assist you properly.

What I don't understand is why LAN access MUST be HTTPS?
It's not a problem per say as I can fully connect and configure the router. I just don't like the fact that I'm connecting to a device that acts and responds to my all my interface requests as if I'm connecting to it on the WAN? It loads GUI pages at speeds as if I'm connecting to it from the other side of earth. Remember dial-up? And my primary suspicion is that it's being caused by the forced SSL LAN connection along with the troublesome certificate errors.
Since there is presently no option to disable HTTPS -> HTTP would you please assist me on what I need to do with the certificates when using Internet Explorer 8.0 (on Windows XP), Internet Explorer 10.0 (Windows 7) and SeaMonkey 2.19 (Wndows 7).

I'm curious if someone from Cisco could comment--why only https for even the lan?
