I'm configuring L2TP VPN using a Windows 2012 server. I know I can create custom services for the TCP and UDP ports but I can't see how to create a custom service for protocol 50. (Allows IPsec Encapsulating Security Payload (ESP) traffic to the VPN server.)
From MSFT: Configure a Firewall for VPN Traffic
I am able to create custom services on my older rv180 by selecting 'other' from the protocol drop down but I don't have that option on the rv325. Is this currently supported on the rv325?
thanks in advance

Hi
Please go to setup -> Forwarding -> Port Range Forwarding -> service management then add the ports what you need.

Thank you for the reply Ami. However, that is not the solution. What you describe is how to forward a TCP/UDP Port. Specifically, what I am looking for is how to forward a Protocol.
(Here's a quick item on the difference between Ports and Protocols - What is Protocol 50 )
Protocol 50 (ESP - Encap Security Payload) is necessary to support L2TP VPN.
On my older RV180W (past EOL) this is what the custom service drop down looks like. Note that I can select 'Other' and define the Protocol.
Is this (or will it be) available on the RV320/RV325?

My mistake, I think there's no option to setup IP protocol on RV325. Have you encountered any problems?.

VPN passthrough does not configure the necessary WAN to LAN routing. So, yes I have encountered a problem. The problem is that I can't use my internal RRAS server to establish a VPN because I can't pass the necessary traffic though the firewall.
