Shared files with RV110W

I'm using a machine from my local network (192.168.1.x) and I'm trying to reach a machine located behind my firewall RV110W (10.10.10.x) in order to access to its shared files (Windows). I tried to use the DMZ but this solution seems doesn't work. Do you know how to do?

I used the option "Port Forwarding" and opened ports 139 (TCP), 445 (TCP), 5355 (UDP), 137 (UDP), 138 (UDP) of my machine 10.10.10.101 but I haven't still access to my shared files. I add all my software firewalls are inactive.

Any solution?

Try adding a static route, so the 192.x.x.x pc knows how to find the other network 10.x.x.x.

I did it but still nothing.

Below, my network:

I added a static route for the router (192.168.1.1):

- network: 10.10.10.1

- gateway: 192.168.1.20

On the RV110W, I opened the following ports for the server (10.10.10.101):

- 139 (TCP)

- 445 (TCP)

- 5355 (UDP)

- 137 (UDP)

- 138 (UDP)

All my firewall softwere (McAfee) are disabled.

I can ping the network 192.168.1.x from any machine 10.10.10.x and access to the share files.

I can't ping the network 10.10.10.x from any machine 192.168.1.x and access only to the 192.168.1.x share files.

If you put this server in the DMZ and it didn't work, then something is wrong.  I'd put it on the DMZ and then disable the firewall and see if it works.  But to be honest, there's no need for the rv110w as a firewall if you do this as you're just routing traffic from one subnet to the other.

Hello Samir.

This is not just for routing traffic. I need the firewall function for isolating 10.10.10.x from 192.168.1.x. There is only one machine inside 10.10.10.x getting files that I want to share with 192.168.1.x.

I think I have to use the DMZ but it seems I have some difficulties to configure it.

I disabled the firewall function on my RV110W (Firewall > Basic Settings > Firewall : Disabled) and others (DoS Protection, Block WAN Request). I can ping from any 10.10.10.x machines to 192.168.1.x, but it still doesn't work in the other direction. (I have disabled all my firewall soft on each machine and added the route to join 10.10.10.1 on my router 192.168.1.1.)

Ahh, makes sense now.

I'm not sure if windows file sharing will work through a dmz, but you should be able to just put in \\192.168.1.20 and hit the server since this is the 'wan' ip address for the rv that the 192.168.1.x network sees.  Be sure to set the DMZ to 10.10.10.101.

I set the DMZ to 10.10.10.101 but when I try to reach //192.168.1.20 or //10.10.10.101, I got a message saying "You might not have permission to use this network resource". I tried to resolve this with that

Very strange.  Can you ping 192.168.1.20?  And from the server can you ping 10.10.10.1?

I can ping 192.168.1.20 and when the server pings 10.10.10.1, i got this:

Sorry, I forgot to be a bit specific.  Did you ping 192.168.1.20 from the 192.168.1.x network?  That ping from the server doesn't look good at all.  Is there a way you can try a different cable between the server and rv110?  Those ping times are horrible.

Sorry. There was a problem with the results above. All packets were received correctly with a good ping.

In all case, for an unknown reason, I can ping machines 10.10.10.x from 192.168.1.x but I can't access to their shared files whereas I can access to the shared files 192.168.1.x from 10.10.10.x.
