SIP INVITE packets reaching to gateway for some calls but not all.

Hi,

Note: Hope, i'm posting this in right community here, if not please redirect me to the correct community forum/directory.

we would like to understand or to get some insights on the below behaviour.

environment:

[sip dialer ]------------(sip)----------[cisco voice sip gateway]

We have our own sip dialer & the sip dilaer making SIP calls with sip header values 'x-cisco-cpa' to inform cisco gateway to do call progress analysis.

The CPA was working fine for some calls but not all.

For the non working calls the cisco gateway trace shows the SIP INVITE was not reached.

But in the sip dialer system, the dialer application sip trace and wireshark trace shows the SIP INVITE was sent. And the SIP INVITE keep resending for 7 times. And later the SIP dialer timesout for the call.

There is no Firewall block on the system.

**If we are not sending the x-cisco-cpa in the SIP header value all the calls are successfully reached to gateway.

How to trace this behaviour and to find the root cause??

The dial peer configuration was correct, we have another system VM-2 which uses the same gateway and in VM-2 system all calls are working as expected.

In brief,

VM-1 -- The CPA was working fine for some calls but not all calls

VM-2 -- The CPA was working fine for all calls.

Both VM-1, VM-2 making calls via the same gateway.

For the non working calls in VM-1, we did see the SIP INVITE packets keeps re-sending..

And in VM-1, if we send SIP INVITE without x-cisco-cpa all the SIP calls successfully connected.

How to trace this behaviour and to find the root cause??

Is this an issue on the VM-1 side or in the cisco gateway side. How to find out and fix this??

Thanks and Regards
