Hi all,
our WRV210 is unable to link to some devices in our office. Here is a list of devices where the router and the computer does not register a link (i. e. NIC control lights don't lighten up and of course, no entry in the ARP table) between the two devices:
* Lenovo ThinkServer TS200v (Intel e1000 NIC)
* VIA EPIA M5000 (VIA RHINE II NIC)
* HP Elitebook 6930p (Intel 82x NIC)
* HP Compaq nx6125 (Broadcom b57)
Here is a list of devices where a link is registered:
* HP Elitebook 6930p (as above)
* HP Compaq nx6325 (Broadcom b57 NIC)
* Lenovo A58 (Boradcom b57 NIC)
* Brother HL2150n (unknown)
The EPIA and the TS200v run GNU/Linux (Debian Lenny), the nx6125 and the nx6325 run MS Windows XP Pro SP3, all others (but the printer) run MS Windows 7 Pro SP1.
Of course I switched through many combinations, and independent of port, cable and so on the above mentioned devices don't connect. And now the fun part: if I put a switch between the router and the devices, I get a connection, duh! I worked through the Administrator Guide for this device and I'm actively looking around this website but so far to no avail.
I'm not (yet ) a network specialist and I'm reaching the limits of my knowledge in this issue. I can't see reason or rhyme in this one. Do you have any ideas?
Regards,
B.

Just a little update: when I came into my office today the router and the Lenovo TS200v established a connection. I can access the server through SSH and the AMT interface over https.
No change on the other devices, however. It's especially grating because the Elitebook that does not get a connection is my main work horse.
I'm going to setup a log viewer on the TS now but do you have any more suggestions where I could look to get more information?

Hi Branco,
Did you made any progress in trying to undersdand thus behavior? I'm having the same problem: not communicating with Lenovo Thinkpad laptops of many models, cannot work with HP V1910 switch (formely 3Com), etc... But worked with an ASUS laptop and a Compaq desktop, also with a D-Link switch.
Thanks.
