I am trying to set up a VPN to my network with a WRV210 Router.
From outside the network using the QuickVPN client, I get as far as "Verifying network" followed by "The remote gateway is not responding. Do you want to wait."
The VPN Status shows a start time and a stop time against the user, about 1/2 to 1 minute apart.
I am getting internet access to adminster the router over the internet.
Any ideas gratefully received.
Neil

Neil--Check under your router firewall settings and make sure that you have Block WAN Requests Disabled.

I am still struggling with this issue. I have tried disabling all the firewall settings in the router and the firewall on the laptop. I can ping e.g. bbc.co.uk and my own IP address form the internet but am still getting the message "The remote gateway is not responding. Do you want to wait." and the following recorded in the log file: -
2011/09/05 15:47:57 [STATUS]Success to connect.
2011/09/05 15:47:57 [STATUS]Tunnel is configured. Ping test is about to start.

What am I missing here?

Hi Neil,
With Windows 7 and Vista the Windows Firewall MUST be enabled. The symptom you are seeing is very common when there is third party antivirus or firewall software on the PC. Disable or remove all such software. After you establish a QuickVPN connection you can work on making that software play nice with QuickVPN. From the logs it appears that the connection is almost established but something on your PC is blocking the ping response from the router. Does the VPN status in the router show that you are connected?
