1721 router wan card

adding WIC1DSU-T1 TO 1721...PURCHASED NEW CARD WIC1DSU-T1 v2...ROUTER WILL NOT RECOGNIZE NEW CARD USING SETUP. HAVE TRIED 2 DIFFERENT FUNCTIONAL ROUTERS.

you may need a newer IOS image to be able to use he new card

Thank you. This is what I gathered. The router is not currently enrolled with a smartnet contract. Is that required to download the IOS?? Also how can I determine the feature set fron the existing config?

Hello John,

you need to have a valid service contract to download the new IOS image.

That service contract has to be associated to the CCO account that you use to access the site.

sh ver can give you the current IOS image name.

then use feature navigator

www.cisco.com/go/fn

you can compare the two images features
