2620 high cpu

Hi gang,

Ive been having issues with high cpu usage on 2620 routers. my highest user of cpu is the IP input process according to: sh proc cpu | exclude 0.00%__0.00%__0.00%. However, at the time when the cpu spikes over 80% the packets per second drop down to the lowest they ever are. this router is doing nat/dhcp. 2 vlan subints off the faste, and some basic Voip QoS. I can post the running if need be... but before i do, any ideas?

Hi

Do revert back how many links are getting terminated onto this router and the bandwidth capacities.

Also confirm whether CEF is enabled globally on this router..

You can try enabling ip route-cache flow under your lan interface and make use show ip cache flow to check what kinda traffic patterns are being processed by your router...

The output of this show command will give u the source/dest ip address as well as port numbers(hex) which you can easily decrypt and identify the root cause.
