2960X PoE Issue

Afternoon All,

We have a 3 x 2960X PoE switch in a stack and delivery power to phones/AP's/Camera's etc.

After a week or so one of the blades usually stops providing power to new devices - there is still plenty of power available.

I've replaced the device and tried several known working devices but no power delivered.

A reboot rectifies the issue but it comes around again after a week or so.

We have upgraded the IOS to the latest version - not rectified the issue.

Is there a known issue?

This happens exactly the same on two stacks onsite which seems to suggest its software.....

Cisco looking at it at the moment they are saying its hardware.

Anyone else got these issues?

Just a suggestion. Check the serial numbers to see if they are relatively close in sequence. It may indeed be a hardware issue.

For unknown reasons, the 2960X/XR platform have several known PoE bugs (which can be found in each version Release Notes).   2960S doesn't have these kinds of bugs.  This is why it's peculiar.

The latest one which I could find is CSCvf12964.
