3rd subnet on 6509 VLAN 1

I know this is way out there, but. I have taken over a site with a 6509 for the core switch. There is a primary and secondary IP address assigned to vlan 1. The DHCP is "managed" by another group. I have been taked with cleaning up the network infrastructure. To clean up the 2 Current subnets I need to move the DHCP to another subnet aso I can see what is left (Static devices). Currently there are 2500+ devices that get a DHCP address and the DHCP scope looks like someone used a shotun to poke static holes in it. There are hundreds of exclusions. A third subnet on vlan 1 to move the DHCP to temporarily would be optimal. Any help?

There are no limits on the maximum amount of secondary ip addresses you can put on a router interface.

You can create a second secondary IP address to make your third subnet.

I hope this helps you. Please rate this post.
