Hi.
I am not able to configure 4k vlans in this switch.
Running "cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.06.00.E.152-2.E.bin" and getting this error..
"Proposed configuration exceeds the limit of 2048 VLANs that can be supported on this platform. Maximum of 1043 extended VLANs can be created."
I have configured 'spanning-tree extend system-id', but i still fail to do this.
I must be missing something? Does the 4500 have different hardware profiles for routing/switching or something?
Regards
Andreas

It may be that you only have the LAN Base license which does not support the full range of vlans. To be able to configure the full range you would need either the IP Base or Enterprise Services license.
See table 5 in the release notes for your IOS where it lists the number of vlans supported -
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst4500/release/note/OL_32144-01.html
