Hello All,
I have a 7206VXR router. I have a small confusion with the bandwidth points that I am getting when i Give a show vers.
show version (chopped):

This configuration is within the PCI bus capacity and is supported.
issue:
mb2 bus shows 600 points as current config:
now the cards i have is slot 2,4 and 6 are :

so slot 2 : PA-2FE-TX(400 ponits but one port shut down so shld be 200)
slot 4: PA-FE-TX = 200
slot 6 : PA-4T+ = 0
so total should be 400 but show version shows 600, one port in the slot 2 PA-2FE-TX is shut down now.

please help, why I am getting a 200 point extra?

I may be wrong but I think BW points are calculated on PA type not how many ports are active and configured.

also you need to consider that ports on the NPE uses BW points on one bus and this can make the difference you see.
For this reason, someone prefers 7204 chassis over 7206 chassis

Hi,
PA-2FE-TX is 400 bandwidth points, it doesn't mean you shut down one port, and it will decrease to 200. You can try to shut down both ports, it still 400.

I was under the impression that one port use will halve the BW points..
