Can anyone tell me, features asside and speaking strictly of horsepower (RAM/CPU) which would be more powerful if both were upgraded to their maximum potential:     7206VXR|NPE-G2   or  3945?

Cisco announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco 7200 Series  Routers. The last day to order the affected product(s) is September 29, 2012.

i'd look at the ASR1000 as the logical replacement. the 39xx is more of a branch router.
