Hello
I have a Cisco 7301 and we are trying to get BGP going using a 4 byte ASN. However the IOS that was uploaded is not liked by the router.
The router keeps going into a boot loop a few times and then it goes into rommon mode. Trying confreg 0x142 or 2102 does not help.
A snippet from the boot output below:
Self decompressing the image :
################################################################################################################################################################################################################################################ [OK]
(mem checks cut out)
%ERROR: Invalid IOS image for this platform.
System Bootstrap, Version 12.3(4r)T4, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

Are there any suggestions how I can resuscitate this baby? Like erasing the IOS from rommon or even set a jumper on the motherboard to clear everything off and let it load a basic startup config?
Regards

Hi Leo
Thanks for the assistance, but unfortunately it looks like the only way to fix this is to use a Cisco flash card with the IOS we want on it, in order for this baby to boot. She is as dead as a doornail :(
