Dear All,

I have one query.

I am using one public IP as a lan segment and i am trying to access internet.

internet is working fine but i am unable to access 8.8.8.8 Ip but i ma able to access 4.2.2.2 with source of lan but i am able to ping 8.8.8.8 without source of LAN.

Can anyone explain where could be the issue.

I am not doing any nating.

Are you pinging from the router of from the workstation? You could try enabling "debug ip icmp" on the router and then "ping 8.8.8.8 source <lan interface name>" and see if you receive more information on the reason why it doesn't work.

Hi

Is there any firewall or ACL?

ACL is there for redistributing the routes.

Hi

The IP 8.8.8.8 should be known through the default route (last resort) so the issue could be a filtering method between the users and edge routers, have tried to ping that IP from the edge router?

Hello

Would be easier to be able view your configuration - is that applicable?

Hi dude:
I'm from Mexico and sometimes I had the same issues. According to my Service Provider (ISP Telmex), Google was having problems with them due to the excessive traffic generated by users tried to reach 8.8.8.8

By the way, I recommend doing ping to 208.67.222.222 (Cisco DNS Services)
