Hi All,
Seeing a strange issue on an 871,
I've defined a Dialler interface Dialler 10 for PPPoE, It comes up and establishes with no issue.
When I shut the Dialler interface I keep getting the log line "%LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface Virtual-Access1, changed state to up" which just repeats until I bring up the dialler again.
See below
rt-01(config)#int Di10
rt-01(config-if)#sh
rt-01(config-if)#
May 2 10:16:31.585: %DIALER-6-UNBIND: Interface Vi1 unbound from profile Di10
May 2 10:16:31.585: Di10 DDR: dialer shutdown complete
May 2 10:16:31.593: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface Virtual-Access1, changed state to down
rt-01(config-if)#
May 2 10:16:31.601: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Virtual-Access1, changed state to down
rt-01(config-if)#
May 2 10:16:33.585: %LINK-5-CHANGED: Interface Dialer10, changed state to administratively down
rt-01(config-if)#
May 2 10:16:53.722: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface Virtual-Access1, changed state to up
rt-01(config-if)#
May 2 10:17:15.995: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface Virtual-Access1, changed state to up
Any Idea what might be causing this this to keep logging?
Thanks
Mark

If you are using a lesser version, try upgrading the IOS to a gold star release like 15.1.4M10 and see if the same issue happens.

You could also try block it from logging using discriminator or no logging event link-status under the int

So you are running 15.1.4M10?
