Hi all,
This is the first time I've ordered a Cisco router before, to replace my Draytek basically. Well, this morning my 887VA-SEC-K9 router arrived, followed some of the help guides I managed to find eventually that said things like grounding, cables installation and such, but although I'm sure I've done it right, when I power on the router it initially tries to do DHCP with all LAN devices connected, but about 30 seconds later everything on the router including the LAN is turned off with just one light going green (OK light). I don't appear to have any network connection to the router.
Have I missed something or is this possibly bad luck in that it's faulty and needs to be replaced?
Sorry if I've missed anything obvious, any help is appreciated though.
Many thanks.
EDIT: Appears after some further reading it may be that I need to connect to the console port via the given serial cable to rj45 in order to configure the router. If I am wrong please reply, or any further advice someone can give please feel free to.

Wrong forum, should be "infrastructure, wan". You an move the post using the control panel on the right.
And yes, you must use the console cable.

Ok, corrected the forum location, sorry about that.
I'll head to Maplins shortly and buy a Serial 9-pin to USB so I can use the console cable. If I encounter further troubles I'll let you know, if I manage to resolve it however I'll mark your post as correct answer. Many thanks .
