I just received a 887W and would like to setup using the SDM.
I don't know and cannot find the default IP.
I would appreciate being told the default IP.
regards, Mark

Hi Mark,
if you can ping the 10.10.10.1 but it doesn't show up anything in the web browser when trying to connect to the router, I suspect something is wrong.
If you had console connectivity you could try to check the internal status, but since you say you don't have it (why?) , I'd suggest openening a TAC case for this.

Hi Mark,
just connecting a PC to the ethernet port should cause the router to assign you an ip address and setting itself as the default gateway.
Doing an ipconfig on your PC after having an address should tell you what's the router's address.
Anyway, here:
you may find all the info needed for a first configuration of your router.

Hi, My PC is fine. I need to configure the 887W with SDM
I tried http://10.10.10.1 and this returns nothing
I can ping 10.10.10.1
How do I turn the SDM on so I can configure through the website page?
regards
Mark

Hi Mark,
usually just browsing the Cisco site should allow you to find the needed documentation.
Here is the quick-start guide to configure SDM on your router:
and in case there's still any issue you can try:

I have been reading that these units are shipped with an old IOS?
do you know where I can get the new one?
Cisco IOS Software, C880 Software (C880DATA-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 15.0(1)M3, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)
I have not got the console connection going and it says the IP is 10.10.10.1
I could not connect to http://10.10.10.1
This is causing some confusion.
regards
Mark

Hi Antonio,
A friend has said he will help upgrade the device and sort this out. I have to give up for now.
I can configure from serial port now so that is something.
thank you for your help

Default IP is always 10.10.10.1, but you can't use SDM with the device, you need Configuration Professional. The express version is already installed on the router, just web browse to the 10.10.10.1 address.
