As we know, the cisco 3745 has 2 CF memory slots. One is internal with a 32MB CF memory card by default, another one is external.
My question are:
1. Is the internal CF memory card the same as the external CF memory card?
2. If I choose CF memory factory upgrade from 32MB to 128MB, which slot will be used? Will cisco remove the 32MB Cf memory card and install a new 128MB card in the internal slot or just add a additional CF memory card in the external slot?
Thanks!

Hello,
the part numbers for the internal and external are different, which suggests that they are not compatible. So you will have to specify what you want, e.g. MEM3725-32U128CF (which is the internal upgrade) or MEM3725-128CF-EXT (which is the external upgrade).
In any case, both internal and external cards cannot be combined, so in order to get e.g. 128MB flash, you need either the internal or the external card with those 128MB:
Q. Can you partition the internal Cisco 3700 Series Compact Flash card and the External Compact Flash card to combine and/or to separate them?
A. No, you can not join the two separate Compact Flash cards nor can you partition them.

Dear qpauwen:
Thank u very much!
One more question:
What is the internal Compact Flash memory card looks like? Can it be used in the digital camera? Or looks like a DIMM memory card?

Hello,
have a look at the following link, it shows a compact flash card. As a matter of fact, it looks very much like one of the cards used in digital cameras, and the model shown even shows a digital camera icon, which means that it likely can be used in a digital camera as well...

I found this on CCO:
Q. What type of system Flash memory is utilized with the Cisco 3700 Series?
A. The Cisco 3700 Series utilizes Cisco 3700 Series Compact Flash that conforms to the PC Card ATA specification with standard ATA register and command sets. This replaces both the system Flash memory and the PCMCIA Flash memory used on other Cisco routers.
