ADSL firmware issues with 877 and 1801 non modular routers

Hello eveyone, I am loosing my hair,

I have multiple customers with either 877 / 1801 routers with dsl issues, we keep dropping sync , get slow speeds etc,

I have already updated to firmware 4.018, in some cases it has resolved the issue in others it has not, BT say their lines are ok, but still i keep getting issues.

Now you swap out a very exspensive cisco router for a £30.00 netgear and behold, everything is perfect,

Does anyone know the offical stance here, I know the chipset is written by Alcatel, is this a Cisco issue, BT issue or just a plain interopability. I (and my customers ) are beginning to loose fairth in these routers, please help anybody, put me out of my misery.

Cisco really need to sort this out !!

Alcatel and Cisco works together to resolve such issues and yes newer modem firmware is taken out for chronic issues like you face. I suggest you log a case with Cisco tac and we will make sure you get this issue resolved.

As this is too much troubleshooting involved this thread may not be the right platform.
